Mettrick's lambs come from a very small number of farms within ten miles, and have been enjoyed by the local community for decades.

- It is raised above 1000' on the heather, herbs and grasslands of the High Peak creating a delicious flavour for you to enjoy
- Only a few farms can supply lamb into the scheme and only some of their lambs will meet the high standard that Mettrick's require for it to be called High Peak Lamb
- These selected lambs are brought to Mettrick's own abattoir, fewer than ten miles away. They remain calm and unstressed by the very short trip - this is what helps the flavour most
- Mettrick's process the lambs by hand, a skilled and craft-based process - we don't use machines. The abattoir is the only one in Derbyshire which handles meat for eating and its very small scale means the best possible animal care and meat presentation
